Version 3.63 Discussion (new October 2007)

Post by andyc »

Version 3.63 was released today.

The most significant update is that the /background errors should now have been eliminated. These were caused by a bug in mIRC 6.3, which the maker assures me is fixed for future mIRC versions.

How does v3.63 work for you? I'm specifically interested in how it works on Vista, because I don't have full access to a Vista system to check.

Post any comments here!

Many thanks.

Thanks a lot for the info - it looks like MSN for mIRC has a problem when the msn authentication servers tell it to redirect.

Unfortunately none of the email addresses I have cause it to redirect, so I've not been able to test this, I coded it purely from a theory basis, which seems to only half work.

I'll work as much as I can on it, if you're willing to help test out bits of code I'd be very grateful. The debug info you've posted will be very useful.

Right I already think I've found a fix!

Can you find this line in msnnewauth.mrc:

Code: Select all

if $left(%temp,20) == Authentication-Info: {
and replace it with:

Code: Select all

  if (da-status=success isin %temp) {
I'd be really, really grateful if you could tell me if this works.

*removed*

Thanks for the fix =)

Didnt work at first, cause i didnt think to reload it

But i ran "/load -rs msn/msn.mrc" and it worked ;D thanks again

It still reports "* /sockread: socket unavailable (line 40, msnnewauth.mrc)"

EDIT2: what about disable messages that starts with an "/" in conversations? wrote /help and m4m sent it as a message as well.

And when someone(including myself) change status back to online, it says "*user* has logged on".

If I for example is writing something on a channel in irc, and somebody starts a new conversations, irc jumps to that window, its irritating :p
but only happens on new conversations, when the "*user* has joined the conversation" shows.

am I blind or is it no way to find out what version you currently are using, from inside mirc?

It lets me know when somebody open/start-writing something to me, but doesnt show when they close it.

is it possible to change som colors on some of the text? i use nnscript, so some colors blends woth the bg color.

Lots of things here :p but i love the addon <3

All of the above has been fixed/implemented for the next version.

You're blind. The first line in the main MSN window is the version of MSN for mIRC you have.

You can also type $msnversion and press tab (not enter).

To find your mIRC version just type $version and press tab.
It lets me know when somebody open/start-writing something to me, but doesnt show when they close it.
Due to recent changes in the way MSN handles connections, you can no longer tell for definite when someone closes a window to you unfortunately. I've changed the website accordingly, thanks for pointing it out.

Which colours do you think could change, and to what? I'm useless with picking good colours for things.
Lots of things here :p but i love the addon <3

Thanks!

hehe, yeah, i even remember seeing it (version number) now that you mentioned it ^^

well, nothings really wrong with the colors the way they are now, but maybe an option to change them for people with skins/different-colors.
