{"id":24,"date":"2007-05-04T15:36:34","date_gmt":"2007-05-04T15:36:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.burningimage.net\/clock\/2007\/05\/04\/time-signal-moved-to-anthorn\/"},"modified":"2023-07-22T06:53:11","modified_gmt":"2023-07-22T06:53:11","slug":"time-signal-moved-to-anthorn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.burningimage.net\/clock\/time-signal-moved-to-anthorn\/","title":{"rendered":"Time Signal Moved to Anthorn&#8230;."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;..and I can&#8217;t decode it anymore!<\/p>\n<p>The signal has moved from being transmitted 60 miles away from me, to being transmitted 360 miles away from me, and my receiver isn&#8217;t having any of it.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve tried a few little things to try and improve the sensitivity of the receiver, but so far to no avail.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 I also tried using the lock detect line on a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/PLL\" rel=\"noopener\">phase locked loop<\/a> (PLL) to see if I could lock to the 60kHz signal.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 This posed a problem though, because of the nature of an <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Amplitude-shift_keying\" rel=\"noopener\">amplitude shift keyed<\/a> signal, which is what the 60khz signal is.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 The power level of the signal I was receiving was not enough to get the PLL to lock, and if I increase the amplification in the signal, the entire circuit oscillates, putting the PLL into a permanant lockup.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 All very annoying!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m going to work on making an ultra sensitive receiver, to hopefully get a decent signal to feed into my already constructed PIC decoder and display.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;..and I can&#8217;t decode it anymore!
