Change background?

Is there anyway you can change the background in the mainwindow? On the screenshot @ the homepage, its an msn-pic, but its just black for me 
That makes it look very ugly, I think ..
Why isn't åäö included in the nicknames? If one of my buddies have got åäö in their nickname, it changes to some strange things ..
