MSNP9 doesn't offer any real advantages over MSNP8. MSNP9 was introduced mainly to enable support for another protocol that is used to communicate display pictures between users. Unfortunately, display pictures will take me a very long time to develop, so that's on hold for the minute.
MSNP10 adds support for personal messages, which would be very handy in MSN for mIRC. Sadly though, MSNP10 is completly different to MSNP8, so would require me to pretty much rewrite the entire MSN for mIRC code!
Another point is that I know a lot of users like to use MSN for mIRC when the official client is broken and refuses to connect. Mostly, MSN Messenger goes down as a result of the fancy new protocols not working correctly. Because MSN for mIRC uses a relatively old protocol, you can still connect to MSN when the official client won't. If I moved to MSNP10, MSN for mIRC would go down along with the official client.
They're my excuses anyway.
